ACTING & COLLEGE AUDITION COACHING
I offer one-on-one acting coaching specializing in monologues for auditions. I help students tackle the daunting nature of the college audition process: guiding them through the maze of unified auditions, finding appropriate and exciting material based on each unique student, digging into each monologue finding moments of discovery, a clear character arc, and developing a strong and detailed set of actions and objectives. I can assist with self-taping needs for prescreen and video auditions, offering side coaching and my own expertise in putting yourself on tape, in addition to in-person audition prep. My goal is to help you walk into the audition room with confidence, preparation, clarity, and to be proud of the work you put forth.
As someone who’s navigated auditioning for and attending both BFA and Mfa acting programs, I have a unique understanding of the nature of these processes and institutions. I also spent time working in Performing Arts Admissions at Emerson College, meeting with prospective students and guiding them through the application and audition process. auditioning for college can be intimidating, but I am here to make this process uncomplicated, enjoyable, and empowering.
HEAR FROM THE STUDENTS:
“I started taking personal sessions with Jane last year mainly for college preparation and extra training, they helped me navigate the college audition process and I now attend university as an acting and performance major. Throughout my time working with Jane, I've learned how to better connect myself to a character's intentions within a piece of work, as well as identify interesting material that plays to my strengths while also challenging my weaknesses. By the end of our sessions, I had accumulated a diverse and solid set of monologues which I've used for college scholarships, my personal reel, and general auditions. Jane is a very easy person to work with, our time together not only contributed to my knowledge but also my confidence as a young actor.”
